Costa Rica
The first round of the Costa Rican presidential election was held February 4th. Since none of the candidates achieved the minimum required 40% threshold, a run-off vote took place between the two leading candidates on April 1.
The Global Vote result was one of the most definitive so far recorded, with Carlos Alvarado Quesada winning a remarkable 90% of the international poll.
With sincere thanks to María Lourdes Borbón for her invaluable help in preparing the candidate profiles.
